Canterbury Students Recognize Earth Day

Fourth graders at Greendale's Canterbury Elementary School celebrated Earth Day by learning various ways that they can make a difference in the environment. Classes read “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss, viewed a BrainPop video about Earth Day, read picture books about protecting our environment and wrote letters to Mother Earth, sharing how we plan to protect the Earth.

Finally, the students used cups to grow plants that they can transplant in their gardens. They also will take home a garden stone inscribed with the word “unless” to remind them of the difference they can make in protecting the Earth.
