Earlier this month, Greendale Middle School eighth grade students shared their passion for the past with a large audience of family members and other students as part of the second annual GMS History Fair.
The students put their social studies skills to work doing original research over six weeks. These student-interest driven projects cover a wide range of subjects, all focusing on the National History Day theme of Rights and Responsibilities in history. Topics ranged from Book Burnings in Nazi Germany to Chemical Additives in Fast Food.
Volunteers judged the projects and gave feedback during three rounds of judging. The top projects in each category will move on to the regional competition at UWM on March 1.
The regionals team includes: five group exhibits, five individual exhibits, two documentaries, two performances, one paper, one individual website, and one group website.
