FHS boys basketball program announces summer camp

Franklin High School will hold a boys basketball camp for boys entering third and fourth grades Aug. 9-12, from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

The cost is $75 per camper.

Oak Creek to host British Soccer Camp in August

The Oak Creek Soccer Club will host a week-long British Soccer Camp Aug. 2-6 at Oak Creek West Middle School, 8401 S. 13th Street.

Each child will be coached by a member of Challenger's British coaching staff flown to the United States exclusively to work on these programs.

Challenger's British Soccer Camp is more than a week of drills and skills. In addition to taking part in a daily regimen of foot skill development, technical and tactical practices and daily tournament-style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship.

Teams are also welcome to attend and receive a week of focused instruction to prepare them for the fall season.

Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster and an individual skills performance evaluation. In addition, any child who signs up online at least 45 days prior to camp will receive a genuine British Soccer replica jersey valued at $39.

DJ's Court Tourney to celebrate 10th anniversary

DJ's Court Tourney, a 3-on-3 co-ed basketball tournament for players 17-years-old and older, marks its 10th season this summer.

The 32-team tournament is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 at Franklin High School.

The team entry fee is $60. All proceeds benefit the Christine Rathke Memorial Fund.

Franklin alumni triathlon set for Aug. 20

The Franklin High School Alumni triathlon will be held Friday, Aug. 20, at the high school.

Check in is at 5 p.m. and the swimming event begins at 6. After swimming 250 meters, competitors will bike seven miles and run two miles.

Current and former Franklin athletes and faculty members from the district are invited to take part. Family members are also welcome.

Donations to the cross country program will be accepted and food and beverages will be served after the event.

College coaches to attend baseball camp in Racine

Hitters Baseball Academy, 4726 Six Mile Road, Racine, will be holding an instructional/exposure camp Aug. 2-6 for ages 14-18 and Aug. 9-11 for ages 9-13.

Coaches from the following colleges are expected to attend the camp: University of Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Western Kentucky, UW-Parkside, Carthage College, Madison College, Illinois State and West Point Military Academy.

This camp offers a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with coaches from those colleges.

The cost is $375 for 14-18-year-olds and $275 for 9-13-year-olds.

Greenfield to hold girls basketball camp in August

The Greenfield girls basketball program will offer a camp this summer.

The $60 offensive movement and shooting camp is Aug. 9 to 13, at Greenfield High School from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
