Police Report: Nov. 6

Nov. 6, 2012


1A coin holder and coins, valued at $44, were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of East Arthur Drive between 10 p.m. Oct. 24 and 2 p.m. Oct. 26.

2Five catalytic converters were stolen off three vehicles at the Ryan Road Park and Ride, 1450 W. Ryan Road, between 6:30 a.m. and 5:25 p.m. Oct. 29. Loss is estimated at $1,600.

3An iPhone was stolen from a home in the 8900 block of South Ridge Croft Drive between 6:30 and 9:20 p.m. Oct. 29. The phone was found to be missing after a party.

4The rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle parked at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., between 3 and 10 p.m. Oct. 30.

5An unlocked car was rummaged through during a theft attempt in the 4000 block of West Oakwood Road between the late evening hours of Oct. 31 and morning hours of Nov. 1. The contents of the glove box and center console were moved but nothing was reported missing.

6Three cellphones and a diamond nose ring were reported stolen in the 1800 block of West Timber Ridge Lane at 6:20 p.m. Nov. 2. The victim stated the phones were loaded onto a truck and moved from South Milwaukee to Oak Creek on Oct. 29, and they were missing from his dresser drawer at his new residence Nov. 2. Police are following up.

7A tailgate was stolen off a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck in a driveway in the 800 block of West River Edge Court between 9:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and 10 a.m. Nov. 3. Loss is estimated at $700.

8Seven 12-foot-long metal fence posts, a value of $500, were reported stolen from a yard in the 3900 block of East Puetz Road at 3:40 p.m. Nov. 3. The victim stated the fence was in the process of being erected and the posts were pounded four feet into the ground. It is unknown when the poles were stolen.

9Two bottles of Obsession perfume, a value of $77, were stolen at Target, 8989 S. Howell Ave., about 4:55 p.m. Nov. 3. The theft was captured on video surveillance and police are following up.


10A 16-year-old Oak Creek boy was cited for battery after he struck a 15-year-old boy in the face two times at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, shortly before 1 p.m. Oct. 31. The 15-year-old boy was cited for disorderly conduct.

11A 16-year-old Oak Creek boy was arrested for battery after he struck a 21-year-old Oak Creek man in the face outside a home in the 8100 block of South Glenfield Drive shortly before midnight Nov. 3.


12A 16-year-old Oak Creek girl was cited for possession of marijuana after an officer found 1.4 grams of marijuana in her book bag at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 31.

13A 19-year-old Racine man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when officers found 5.8 grams of marijuana, a pipe and a grinder in his glove box after he rear-ended a vehicle in the 7000 block of South Howell Avenue at 6 p.m. Nov. 1. Additionally, he was cited for following too closely.


14A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for making an unlawful turn at a controlled intersection in the 7100 block of South 13th Street at 2:40 a.m. Oct. 29. His blood-alcohol content was 0.08.


15A 55-year-old Oak Creek woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of knee pain after her eastbound vehicle struck a westbound car on Rawson Avenue while it was making a left turn onto 13th Street at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 2. After the cars collided, one of the vehicles spun around and hit a third car that had been stopped at the red light on 13th Street. The driver of that vehicle, a 56-year-old Milwaukee woman, was taken to Froedtert Hospital with a large head contusion. No citations were issued at the time of the accident due to conflicting testimony.


16A vehicle's rear window was smashed in the 3100 block of East Ryan Road between 7 p.m. Oct. 31 and 9 a.m. Nov. 1. Damage is estimated at $500.

17A vehicle's driver-side window was smashed in the 9100 block of South Fifth Avenue between 6 and 7:15 a.m. Nov. 1. Damage is estimated at $300.

18Graffiti was spray-painted on the east side of the maintenance garage at Apartment Homes of Wildwood, 8056 S. Wildwood Drive, prior to 5:20 p.m. Nov. 3. Damage is estimated at $100.


19A 33-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was seen looking in people's mailboxes, walking through people's yards, screaming and running into traffic in the 2000 block of East Norwood Drive at 10:35 p.m. Oct. 29.

20A 19-year-old South Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit after police pulled him over for multiple registration violations in the 500 block of West Drexel Avenue at 7:50 p.m. Oct. 30. A canine unit search of his vehicle revealed a plastic grinder and metal pipe with THC residue in a storage compartment and an 8-inch, fixed-blade knife with a wooden handle in the back seat.

21A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for underage possession of alcohol after she was pulled over for failing to change lanes while passing a stopped emergency vehicle in the 7100 block of South Howell Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. Nov. 3. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.07.


22Firefighters and police responded to a mobile home fire at Oak Creek Estates, 2137 W. College Ave., at 11:55 a.m. Oct. 29. The resident, a 54-year-old man, was using mineral spirits to refinish a dresser, which unintentionally started the fire. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. The trailer was a complete loss.

23Police and the Oak Creek Fire Department responded to a balcony fire at the Timber Ridge Apartments, 1916 W. Timber Ridge Lane, at 4:54 p.m. Oct. 30. The fire apparently started when a resident threw a cigarette onto his porch, which started a pair of tennis shoes on fire. The fire was put out prior to officers' arrival. The fire burned a 6-inch hole in the balcony; damage is estimated at $150.

24Police and firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting flames and smoke inside a stove in the 10600 block of South Peggy Drive at 11:27 a.m. Nov. 2. The resident stated she purchased a new stove and had turned it on to burn the oils off, per the installer's directions. However, the homeowner failed to remove the instruction manual in the broiler section underneath the oven before turning it on. The fire was out when the Fire Department arrived; there was no damage.

25The Oak Creek Fire Department and police responded to a lawn mower fire in the 200 block of West Trillium Terrace at 11:55 a.m. Nov. 2. The mower, owned by Choice Landscaping, was cutting and picking up leaves when the fire started. Damage to the mower is estimated at $14,000. There was no damage to the residence.

Oak Creek police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with 16 rescue calls and five fire calls between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5.
