Police Report: July 17

1About 250 feet of welding cable, valued at $1,100, was taken out of a work truck parked at Truck Country, 2222 W. Ryan Road between July 2 and July 6.

2A car title and registration was taken out of the glove box of an unlocked vehicle in the 8400 block of South 5th Avenue between 2:30 a.m. and noon July 5.

3An unidentified couple shoplifted $390 worth of teeth-whitening strips at Walgreens, 9449 S. Howell Ave., at 10:30 a.m. July 10.

4A $1,500 pair of diamond hoop earrings and a $2,500 ring were taken from a residence in the 8600 block of South Ventana Drive shortly after 10 p.m. July 10. The homeowner stated the thefts took place over a three-month period. Police are following up with possible suspects.

5A blue, white and silver Next Power Climber mountain bike was taken from the bike rack at the Salvation Army, 8853 S. Howell Ave., between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. July 11. The bike was locked to the bike rack.

6Three credit cards and $50 cash were taken from a wallet in a vehicle in the 8900 block of South 11th Avenue between 10 p.m. July 10 and 5 a.m. July 11. The credit cards were used to fraudulently purchase $111 worth of items at two gas stations and a restaurant in Oak Creek.

7A cellphone and charger valued at $115 were taken from an unlocked truck in the 8900 block of South Chicago Road between 11 a.m. July 10 and 6:30 a.m. July 11.

8Various tools and a wallet containing credit cards and cash were taken from a truck parked in the 2500 block of West Oakwood Road between 7 p.m. July 11 and 7 a.m. July 12.

9A CD stereo valued at $300 was taken out of the dashboard of an unlocked vehicle in the 9000 block of South Chicago Court between 11 p.m. July 11 and 8:30 a.m. July 12. The dashboard sustained $50 worth of damage.

10A digital media player valued at $250 was taken from the eighth-grade science room at East Middle School, 9330 S. Shepard Ave., between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. July 12.

11A 30-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting $16 worth of items after she was seen concealing them in her purse and down the front of her pants at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., at 6:30 p.m. July 13.

12A 20-year-old Greendale man was arrested for theft and loitering and a 20-year-old Union Grove man was cited for loitering after they were seen taking a downspout off a house in the 2100 block of West Woodward Drive shortly after midnight July 15. The pair was also cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Two more white downspouts were also found in their vehicle, which officers believe were taken from homes in Franklin.

13A GPS unit and a satellite radio valued at $175 were taken from one vehicle and two gift cards valued at $52.50 were taken out of a second car parked in an unsecured garage in the 9900 block of South Darlene Lane between 6 p.m. July 14 and 10:30 a.m. July 15.

14An 18-year-old Greenfield woman was arrested for shoplifting $103 of groceries at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., at 7:30 p.m. July 15.


A 37-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for child abuse after he allegedly struck his 7-year-old son in the face, leaving a mark on his jaw and a cut on his mouth prior to 8 p.m. July 8.

15A 16-year-old Oak Creek girl was arrested for battery after she admitted punching her mother in the head because she was upset with her for making her go to bed too early in the 8300 block of South Verdev Drive at 11:45 p.m. July 13.


16A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana at Hy-View Mobile Home Park, 2539 W. Carroll Ave., at 3:50 a.m. July 14.

17A 23-year-old Racine man was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 1000 block of East Highway 100 at 7 p.m. July 15.


18A 56-year-old Franklin man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for operating with prohibited blood alcohol content in the 8900 block of South 27th Street shortly after noon July 14. His preliminary BAC was unavailable.


19Garbage was dumped in the backyard and chili was poured around the rim of a swimming pool at a residence in the 600 block of East Rawson Avenue between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. July 10.

20A trailer sustained an estimated $500 damage in the 10400 block of South Justin Drive between July 2 and July 12. A latch was pried off the door.

21Graffiti was spray-painted on a stop sign at the entrance to Bender Park, 4503 E. Ryan Road, prior to 8:20 a.m. July 14.

22All four tires were slashed on a vehicle in the 8300 block of South Newbury Drive between 10:30 p.m. July 14 and 8:40 a.m. July 15. Damage is estimated at $400.

23A window was cracked on the northwest corner door of Shepard Hills Elementary School, 9701 S. Shepard Hills Drive, between 5 p.m. July 15 and 6 a.m. July 16. A piece of asphalt had been thrown at the window. Damage is estimated at $200.


24A 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both of Franklin, were cited for disorderly conduct after they were involved in a road rage incident on South 13th Street and West Ryan Road at 12:45 p.m. July 10. The 21-year-old man admitted following the 26-year-old man's car after he made an obscene gesture, and then the 26-year-old man allegedly threatened the other driver with a gun while the two men were stopped at a traffic light on Ryan Road.

25A 31-year-old Oak Creek woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she caused a disturbance by screaming at a 57-year-old female passenger in her car, then refused to cooperate with police in the parking lot of Lake Forest Apartments, 8541 S. Chicago Road, shortly after 6 p.m. July 12.

Oak Creek police responded to four domestic violence incidents and assisted with 15 rescue calls and one fire call between July 10 and July 16.
