Police Report, Dec. 11

On Dec. 7, a resident called police to report that someone forged 30 of his checks, for a total of $11,537. The checks were stolen and forged between Aug. 10 and Aug. 12.

1A wicker patio set was stolen from a residence in the 3900 block of West College Avenue between Nov. 11 and Nov. 17. Police are attempting to contact a possible suspect who has since moved out of the area.

2A man shoplifted $600 worth of jackets and a soft air gun at Dunham's Sports, 6525 S. 27th St., shortly before 10 a.m. Dec. 3. The suspect, described as a tall, skinny male wearing a black shirt, hat and jacket, dropped the items when an employee spotted him and ran out of the store. The store recovered the items but police were unable to locate him.

3A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 3.

A resident reported someone charged $3,421 to her debit card without her consent on Dec. 4.

4A $200 digital media player was stolen from one of the women's bathrooms at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., between 10:02 a.m. and 12:34 p.m. Dec. 4.

5Two Milwaukee women, ages 28 and 35, were arrested for shoplifting $311 of clothing, DVDs and a DVD player at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 4.

6A battery was stolen from a travel trailer in the 7100 block of West Imperial Drive before 3:30 p.m. Dec. 5.

7A 75-year-old Franklin man was cited for theft after he stole wood stored behind a salt shed at the Department of Public Works, 7979 W. Ryan Road, shortly after 11 a.m. Dec. 7. The man took the wood after a city employee told him he couldn't have it.

8A 37-year-old Hartford man was arrested for shoplifting and operating after revocation, fourth offense, at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly before 2 p.m. Dec. 9.

9A 33-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting multiple items at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly after 3 p.m. Dec. 9.

10A pop-up camper trailer was stolen from a home in the 10000 block of South 112th Street on June 30 and reported Dec. 9. The victim named a suspect in the theft and police are investigating.


11A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, after a motorist called police to report a reckless driver ran a red light at 27th Street and College Avenue, then continued southbound and pulled into Ochs Auto Body in the 2700 block of West Elm Road at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 6. The man refused sobriety testing and was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.

12A 54-year-old Franklin man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for speeding on 83rd Street and Puetz Road at 3:30 a.m. Dec. 7. His blood alcohol content was 0.20.

13A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he drove his car into a ditch while driving northbound on Forest Home Drive near Speedway Drive at 1:10 a.m. Dec. 8. A blood draw was taken, the results of which were unavailable.


14An electrical wire on a reindeer decoration was cut in the 11700 block of West Shields Drive between 12:30 and 4 p.m. Dec. 2.

15A truck drove over a lawn and caused $400 of damage to a newly seeded area in the 10000 block of South 92nd Street sometime between noon Dec. 5 and 11:10 a.m. Dec. 6. A special watch was requested.


16Two boys, ages 13 and 14, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they were seen pushing and shoving each other in a parking lot in the 6300 block of South 35th Street shortly after 4 p.m. Dec. 3. The 13-year-old had an Airsoft handgun in his waistband but did not make any threats with the gun.


17Police and firefighters responded to a small basement fire in the 10200 block of South 34th Street shortly after 11 a.m. Dec. 8. An employee of Time-Warner Cable stated he was drilling a hole into the cement foundation and accidentally struck the main electrical panel, causing a short circuit that created a small fire. The man used an extinguisher to put out the flames, but the fire department was called due to smoldering insulation.

Franklin police assisted with one fire call and one rescue call between Dec. 3 and Dec. 9.
