1A tailgate was stolen off a 2009 Ford pickup truck at Hiller Ford, 6455 S. 108th St., between 5 p.m. Aug. 18 and 6 a.m. Aug. 20.

2A 30-year-old Big Bend man was arrested for shoplifting an extension cord at Menards, 10925 W. Speedway Drive, at 9:10 a.m. Aug. 20.

3A Bose stereo system was stolen at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at 2:10 p.m. Aug. 20. A suspect was apprehended at a Target in Milwaukee.

4An unknown amount of grease was reported stolen from a large container outside Mulligan's Irish Pub & Grille, 8933 S. 27th St., at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 20. The restaurant sells the grease to Sanimax, and for the last six weeks the driver who picks up the grease told employees the container was empty. Loss is estimated at $200.

5Two unidentified males were seen shoplifting Xbox joysticks at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., shortly after 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20. The males, described as white and in their late teens or early 20s, fled the parking lot in a maroon Monte Carlo with stolen license plates.

6A pack of cigarettes, $5 in change and 15 Vicodin pills were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 7100 block of South 35th Street between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and 5:45 a.m. Aug. 21.

7A 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for shoplifting $290 worth of clothing at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 10:35 a.m. Aug. 22.

8Mail was reported stolen from four businesses housed in a building in the industrial park in the 10100 block of South 52nd Street at 1:35 p.m. Aug. 22.

9A wallet containing a driver's license, birth certificate, car key and $220 was stolen from an employee locker room at Rocore Industries, 9845 S. 57th St., about 2:30 p.m. Aug. 22.

10Mail was reported stolen from a business in the 5100 block of West Franklin Drive at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 22. The theft took place Aug. 18.

11A homemade metal screen was stolen from a residence in the 3000 block of West Woodward Drive between the evening hours of Aug. 22 and 2 p.m. Aug. 23.

12Four unidentified females shoplifted $296 worth of powdered baby formula at Pick 'n Save, 7780 S. Lovers Lane Road, Aug. 22.

13Aluminum grounding cable and rods were stolen from the rooftop of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., 1 Northwestern Mutual Way, prior to 8 a.m. Aug. 23. A 29-year-old Milwaukee man that was taken into custody for another theft that occurred in Milwaukee is suspected.

14An unidentified female made two fraudulent credit card transactions that resulted in the theft of $419 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 7:15 a.m. Aug. 24. The woman also attempted a third transaction, but it was denied.

15Prescription medication and a pair of diamond earrings were stolen from a residence in the 7500 block of South 82nd Street prior to 11:20 p.m. Aug. 25. An acquaintance is suspected.

16A purse and other items were stolen out of an unlocked car in a driveway in the 10500 block of West St. Martins Road between 5 p.m. Aug. 26 and 9 a.m. Aug. 27. A second unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway also was entered, but nothing was reported missing from it.

17A GPS unit and an unknown amount of change were stolen from two unlocked cars in the 7300 block of South Countryside Drive between the evening hours of Aug. 26 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27.

18A Samsung Galaxy S-3 cellphone was stolen at AT&T Advanced Technologies, 6503 S. 27th St., between 1:20 and 2 p.m. Aug. 27.


19A 32-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, and cited for driving with a revoked license in the 7200 block of West Rawson Avenue at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 24. His blood-alcohol content was 0.23.

20A 17-year-old Franklin boy was arrested for violating absolute sobriety and cited for driving with a suspended license in the 7100 block of South 51st Street at 1:22 a.m. Aug. 27. His BAC was 0.11. A 15-year-old male passenger in his car was cited for underage drinking.


21A 45-year-old Waukesha man was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries after an accident at St. Martins Road and Highway 100 shortly before 5 p.m. Aug. 18. The Waukesha man was traveling south on St. Martins Road when a northbound car attempted to make a left turn in front of his vehicle. The driver of the other car, an 82-year-old Franklin man, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

22A 30-year-old Greenfield man was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries when he was traveling south on 27th Street and struck a car attempting to turn left from northbound 27th Street onto Puetz Road at 1:55 p.m. Aug. 19. The other car, driven by a 74-year-old Franklin man, then struck a traffic pole that landed on 27th Street. The Franklin man was cited for failure to yield the right of way and not wearing a seatbelt. The Franklin man also was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.


23A mailbox was dented and the flag ripped off in the 8200 block of South 34th Street between 6 p.m. Aug. 20 and 7 a.m. Aug. 21.

24Two mailboxes were damaged in the 3000 to 3200 blocks of West Forest Hill Avenue between the late evening hours of Aug. 20 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21.

25Two mailboxes were damaged in the 3800 block of West Puetz Road prior to 7 a.m. Aug. 23.

26A mailbox was damaged in the 6000 block of West Alwood Drive prior to 6:45 p.m. Aug. 23.

27A 2007 Cadillac Escalade was dented and scratched in a driveway in the 6400 block of South 35th Street between 6 p.m. Aug. 24 and 4 p.m. Aug. 25. Damage is estimated at $200.

28A 10-foot-tall climbing post was pushed over and knocked out of the ground on the playground at St. Martin of Tours School, 7933 S. 116th St., between 8 a.m. Aug. 25 and 2 p.m. Aug. 26. Damage is estimated at $500.

29Graffiti was spray-painted on trash cans and a stop sign at Overlook Point, 6401 Whitnall Park Drive, prior to 10:25 p.m. Aug. 26.


30A 16-year-old boy reported being solicited for sex by a male he didn't know at the Franklin Public Library, 9151 W. Loomis Road, prior to 1:55 p.m. Aug. 23. The suspect, a 20- to 30-year-old white man wearing a red baseball cap, sunglasses and a blue/purple polo shirt, left the library in a black Chevy Blazer and headed north on Loomis Road.

Franklin police responded to five domestic violence calls and assisted with three rescue calls between Aug. 20 and Aug. 27.
