Franklin Police Report: Sept. 4, 2014 issue

Sept. 2, 2014


1 A 50-year-old Franklin man was arrested for burglary after he entered a garage in the 2800 block of West College Avenue, removed a light fixture and cut and disconnected an air conditioning unit belonging to the residence at about 8:55 p.m. Aug. 25. He was also cited for fourth-offense operating after suspension.


2 Four sections of steel spreader pipe were stolen from a construction area on South 76th Street and West Puetz Road at about 11:40 a.m. Aug. 23.

3 A GPS unit was reported stolen out of the glove box of a vehicle in the 7700 block of South 51st Street at 11:05 a.m. Aug. 25. The theft took place sometime between Aug. 1 and Aug. 19.

4 A white and blue 17-inch, 21-speed women's bicycle with a black zippered pouch was stolen out of a garage in the 7000 block of South Riverwood Boulevard sometime between the evening hours of Aug. 24 and the morning hours of Aug. 25.

5 A black Android USB cable and about $10 were stolen from the center console of a locked truck parked in an underground parking garage in the 6900 block of South Riverwood Boulevard sometime between 5 p.m. Aug. 25 and 5:35 a.m. Aug. 26. The unidentified suspect(s) smashed out the front driver's side window to gain entry.

6 About $1 in loose change was reported stolen from the console of a locked vehicle in the 6900 block of South Riverwood Boulevard sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 25 and 9 a.m. Aug. 26. The unidentified suspect(s) broke a window to gain entry. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at about $200.

7 A smartphone was reported stolen while the owner was shopping at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., during the afternoon hours of Aug. 27.

8 A Fender bass guitar, a Sonic brand bass cabinet and a Gallien Krueger brand amplifier, valued at about $800, were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2900 block of West Drexel Avenue sometime between 4 p.m. Aug. 28 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 29. The property was later recovered in West Allis.

9 A sprinkler was stolen out of a yard in the 9900 block of South 31st Street sometime between the evening hours of Aug. 29 and the early morning hours of Aug. 30.

10 An unidentified white male between 25 and 30 years old shoplifted two home theater systems, valued at $557, at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at about 3 a.m. Aug. 31.


11 A 38-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct when he caused a disturbance at Buckhorn Inn, 9461 S. 27th St., after being asked to leave due to his bad behavior and drunkenness at about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 30. He was also arrested for battery after he spit on another patron during the incident.

12 A 56-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious person, operating a vehicle without owner's consent, possession of heroin and possession of a controlled substance (oxycontin) after he allegedly raped a woman he met in a bar in Milwaukee and then stole her vehicle at the Skyway Motel, 8361 S. 27th St., at about 8:45 p.m. Aug. 30. The suspect was located in Oak Creek where he was taken into custody.

Drug possession

13 A juvenile male was arrested for possession of drugs with intent to deliver after police found 138 pills of morphine, hydrocodone and lorazepam in his possession at a residence in the 11900 block of West St. Martins Road at about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 23.

Drunken driving

14 A 38-year-old Muskego woman was arrested for fourth-offense drunken driving in the parking lot at Target, 7800 S. Lovers Lane Road, at about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27.

15 A 39-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 8500 block of West Lake Pointe Drive at about 10:15 p.m. Aug. 27. A chemical breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.24.

16 A 35-year-old Franklin man was arrested for third-offense drunken driving and was taken into custody for having a valid warrant through the Racine County Circuit Court for nonsupport in the 6300 block of South 35th Street at about 1 a.m. Sept. 1. A chemical breath test indicated a BAC of 0.12.


17 A 23-year-old man was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital after he fell off a ladder at the construction site at Franklin High School, 8222 S. 51st St., at about 8:25 a.m. Aug. 29. The construction worker told emergency medical workers he touched a wire and received a shock, causing him to fall off the ladder.


18 A jogger reported vulgar pictures spray-painted on a bridge on the Oak Leaf Bike Trail in the 6600 block of West Rawson Avenue at about 11 a.m. Aug. 25. There was also graffiti spray-painted under the Puetz Road bridge, and the parks department was notified.

19 A driver's side front window of a vehicle was smashed while it was parked in the 7300 block of South North Cape Road sometime between 9 and 11:20 p.m. Aug. 29.

20 An unidentified person driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado drove across multiple yards in the 3100 block of West Southland Drive, the 3100 to 3500 blocks of Woodward Drive and the 2800 block of West Hill Top Lane, causing damage to at least 12 residential lawns at about 3 a.m. Aug. 30. Police located the vehicle behind a residence in the 3000 block of Woodward Drive, and the owner told police she allowed a subject known only as "Nick" to borrow her vehicle that evening. On Aug. 31, police arrested the owner of the vehicle, a 23-year-old woman, for obstructing after it was discovered she lied to police about who was driving her vehicle during the time the vandalism occurred.


21 An employee reported an unknown man entered the Priests of the Sacred Heart Development Office, 6889 S. Lovers Lane Road, through the rear door, walked through the building looking into offices and then was observed crouching down near a computer table in the conference room between 11:45 and noon Aug. 26. The suspect, described as a 5-foot-10-inch- to 6-foot-tall black male between 40 and 50 years old and weighing about 200 pounds with buzz-cut dark hair, fled in a newer black minivan. Nothing was reported stolen from the building, and a special patrol watch was requested.

22 A 20-year-old Hustisford man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon (brass knuckles), possession of marijuana, underage drinking and possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle after the car he was riding in was pulled over on South 27th Street and West Ryan Road at about 1:15 a.m. Aug. 27. A second passenger in the car, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, was also taken into custody for obstructing (giving police a false name) and for having a felony warrant for a parole violation.

23 A resident in the 9100 block of West Highland Park Avenue reported she was the victim of fraud after she gave $6,000 to a subject who stated he was a representative of Publisher's Clearing House on Aug. 29. The suspect, who stated his name was "Ralph Walker," told the victim he needed her to give him the money on Green Dot MoneyPak cards in $500 amounts and then he would release her $950,000 in prize money.

·Franklin police assisted the fire department with four rescue calls and one fire call between Aug. 25 and Sept. 1.
