Police Report: Jan. 14

1A resident of the 100 block of West Sunnyview Drive reported two men she did not know pushed their way into her apartment, forced her and her baby into a back room and stole a sound bar and a 50-inch television about 2:40 p.m. Jan. 7. Loss is estimated at $700. The victim did not know if the men had any weapons. Police are investigating.


2An employee at CDI Logistics, 190 W. Marquette Ave., reported a delivery driver stole a company delivery truck between Dec. 21 and Jan. 2. The driver was making deliveries and pickups for the company while in Las Vegas, but refused to return the van to the company. The driver reportedly told people he intends to sell items out of the van and buy gas using the company credit card. Oak Creek police are working with the Las Vegas police to locate the van and the man.

3A purse, 31/2 bags of chocolate chips, oatmeal, sugar, a small bag containing jewelry and a string of Christmas lights were stolen from a home in the 8800 block of South Wood Creek Drive on Dec. 22 or Dec. 23.

4A man was arrested for stealing a 1,000-foot roll of wire, valued at $252, at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2.

5A man and woman stole three cans of baby formula, a $162 value, at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., about 9:20 p.m. Jan. 2. They were last seen driving north on 27th Street in a silver or tan Honda.

6An Apple iPhone 4S, valued at $500, was stolen off a table in the lobby at Fairfield Inn, 6460 S. 13th St., between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 4.

7A wallet containing a credit card, driver's license, insurance card and cash was stolen out of a purse after it was left in an employee area at McDonald's, 9471 S. 13th St., between 4 and 11:15 p.m. Jan. 4.

8A man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing a bottle of Nyquil in his pants pocket at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., about 5 p.m. Jan. 5. He told officers he stole the $10 bottle of Nyquil because he was getting a cold, and he needed to buy the cough medicine and cigarettes but didn't have enough money to buy both of them.

9A woman was cited for theft at 11 a.m. Jan. 7 after she admitted to stealing a 32-inch television from the Oakwood Motel, 8810 S. 27th St., and selling it.

10A four-gallon, twin-tank air compressor, valued at $70, was stolen out of the bed of a truck parked at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m. Jan. 7.

11A female was cited for theft after she admitted stealing a $50 bill out of the cash drawer at Red Roof Inn, 6360 S. 13th St., at 3:45 a.m. Jan. 8.

12Two females were arrested for shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise by going into the dressing room and concealing new clothing underneath their clothing and concealing additional merchandise in their backpacks at Kohl's, 9035 S. Howell Ave., at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 8.


13A woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 6400 block of South Howell Avenue at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 4. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.13.


14A male was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for treatment of pain in his knee and elbow and a cut on his hand after he was struck by a car while walking in the crosswalk on the west side of the intersection of Puetz Road and Knights Place about 2:55 p.m. Jan. 8. The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.


15A car was scratched with a key in the 1500 block of West Birdsong Drive between 10 p.m. Jan. 4 and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5. Damage is estimated at $3,000. An acquaintance of the victim is believed responsible.

16A vehicle window was smashed out in the 8400 block of South Parknoll Drive between 4 p.m. Jan. 7 and 11 a.m. Jan. 8. Damage is estimated at $85.

17A birdfeeder was smashed and thrown in the trash in the 8300 block of South Chicago Road between 6:15 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 8. Loss is estimated at $100.


18The Oak Creek Fire Department and police responded to the 2000 block of West Ryan Road after a Franklin police officer reported a truck on fire about 3:40 a.m. Jan. 3. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was a total loss; the driver was cited for driving without a valid license.

19An 81-year-old man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of burns to his face and hands and possible smoke inhalation after a house fire in the 2100 block of East Forest Hill Avenue at 7:25 a.m. Jan. 4. The cause of the fire was unknown at the time of the report.

20A garage started on fire in the 1100 block of East Randy Road about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 6. A resident at the home stated his vehicle's motor was plugged into a charger and the garage started on fire as the garage door was closing. He attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was a total loss; a damage estimate was not available at the time of the report.


21A male was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed after he pulled a butcher knife out of a knife block during an argument with his father in the 8700 block of South Country Drive about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 5.

22Officers responding to a report that two or more people were screaming at each other in the 2100 block of West Meyer Lane arrested a man for disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer after he attempted slammed his apartment door in an officer's face about 1:15 a.m. Jan. 8.

· Oak Creek police responded to four domestic violence calls and assisted with 24 rescue calls and eight fire calls between Jan. 2 and Jan. 9.
