1About $1,000 of jewelry was reported stolen from a residence in the 8200 block of South 100th Street at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 11. The resident told police she had workers at the house about six months ago and recently noticed it was missing.

2A 24-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was seen concealing merchandise at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 11.

3Two packages were stolen out of a mailbox in the 7900 block of South Lakeview Drive between 1:55 and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 11. One package contained $5 of beeswax and the other contained $10 of makeup.

4Police arrested a 34-year-old Milwaukee man for shoplifting after he was caught concealing bottles of vodka underneath his coat at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., at 3:15 a.m. Feb. 15. The man is also responsible for shoplifting several bottles of vodka at the Franklin Walmart at 2 a.m. Feb. 13 and at 6:25 a.m. Feb. 12, after he was positively identified through video surveillance.

A resident in the 8100 block of Legend Drive reported an unknown subject used her debit card information to make more than $3,000 worth of fraudulent online purchases at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 15. One of the vendors advised the resident they possibly had some information about the suspect. Police are following up.

5A 2009 Infiniti G37 was stolen after the owner of the vehicle left it running while he went inside to get coffee at Speedway, 10001 W. Church St., at 8 p.m. Feb. 15.

6A 36-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of stolen property after police responded to a caller who reported a man and a woman driving up and down the lot lanes at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th Street, asked the caller if he could have her receipt for a tax write-off at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 16. The woman, 18, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon (knife).


7A 56-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested for drunken driving after he almost struck a Hales Corners police officer on a traffic stop at Forest Home Avenue and North Cape Road at 10:45 p.m. Feb. 14. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.

8A 27-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, in the 9300 block of West St. Martins Road at 6:10 p.m. Feb. 15. His BAC was 0.23.

9A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving in the 7700 block of South 27th Street at 10 p.m. Feb. 16. His BAC was unavailable at the time of the report.

10A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, and a probation violation in the 2700 block of West College Avenue at about 3 a.m. Feb. 17. The man refused testing and was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw, the results of which were unavailable at the time of the report.


11A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after a car struck his vehicle while he was stopped for a red light at the intersection of Highway 100 and Church Street at 2 p.m. Feb. 7. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 42-year-old Franklin man, told police he slid over the median and hit the victim's car while attempting to avoid rear-ending a vehicle stopped in front of him. He was cited for speeding/driving too fast for conditions.

12A 58-year-old Franklin man was transported to the hospital after he lost control of his truck on the snow-covered road and slid sideways into a traffic pole and knocked it over, then struck a second traffic pole on Loomis Road just north of Drexel Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

13A 25-year-old Illinois man was cited for failure to have control of a vehicle and failure to notify police of an accident after he hit the curb, drove onto the median and struck a traffic sign post on Rawson Avenue and Tumblecreek Drive, then drove away from the scene at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 10. Officers located the driver through witness accounts and car debris left at the scene.


14The property fence was cut that accesses an area where empty trucks are parked in back of ConWay Central Express, 10601 S. 27th St., sometime between the evening of Feb. 8 and the morning of Feb. 11. Damage to the fence is estimated at $200.


15The Franklin Fire Department and police responded to a report of a strong smell of gasoline and a fire across the roadway in the 3100 block of West Puetz Road at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 11. The fire was put out before their arrival. According to the report, gasoline was spread across the roadway and a gas can was found in a driveway. A special patrol watch was requested in the area.

16A 31-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found heroin paraphernalia in their room after they were asked to leave the Skyway Motel, 8361 S. 27th St., at 11:20 a.m. Feb. 12.

17An employee at Franklin Meats, 9431 W. Oakwood Road, called 911 after a customer called the store and threatened to come back to the store with a gun at about 1:25 p.m. Feb. 14. The customer, a 52-year-old Milwaukee man, was confronted about passing worthless checks at the company's Milwaukee store when he became upset, left the building and then called and stated, "You tell your guy I gots a bullet waiting for him … ." Police contacted the subject and told him he would be arrested if he returns to the business.

Franklin police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with three rescue calls between Feb. 11 and Feb. 17.
