Andrea Fetting of Franklin earned her bachelor's degree, with honors, in geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December.

The following students made the fall semester dean's list at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside: from Frankin, Marissa Bunn, Laura Ciske, Andrea Graham, Thomas Mehner, Lauren Moshea, Kurt Napientek, Philip Noinaj, Rachel Rhyner and Matthew Tatlock; from Greendale, Nicholas Connor; and from Oak Creek, Amelia Andacht, Caitlin Clark, Robert Engnath, Andrea Furby, Alyssa Henke, Ryan Herbert, Justin LaFountain, Susan Lemanski, Briana Maczka, Jerome Phillips, Nichole Redmond, Roger Ruiz, Laura Schram, Melissa Tourangeau, Sierra Weitkuhn and Kenneth Zidek.

Jared Pierson of Oak Creek made the fall semester dean's list at Upper Iowa University in Fayette.

Kelvin Guilbault of Franklin made the fall semester dean's list at North Central College in Naperville, Ill.

Kelly Menden of Hales Corners and Patricia Menz and Kaylee Moore of Oak Creek made the fall semester dean's list at Carroll University in Waukesha.

The following students made the fall semester dean's list at Carthage College in Kenosha: from Franklin, Nicholas Brusky, Justin Harrison, Amy Schultz and Douglas Vodnik; from Greendale, Angela Fuller and Samantha Marus; from Hales Corners, Annamarie Carlson; and from Oak Creek, Matthew Abler, Sahar Ali, Joshua Heicher, Allison Johnson and Emily Nickel.

The following students at Marquette University in Milwaukee participated in a weeklong service trip over spring break as a part of the Marquette Action Program: Rachel Beyer, a junior from Franklin, traveled to Ewing, Va., and volunteered at the Wilderness Road State Park; Erin Kelly, a sophomore from Greendale, traveled to Kansas City, Mo., and volunteered at Cristo Rey School; and Sara Mogensen, a freshman from Hales Corners, traveled to Montgomery, Ala., and volunteered at Resurrection Catholic Missions.

Ryan Ungerecht of Oak Creek was recently inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma honor society at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.


Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Brandon A. Buford graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Buford is the son of Theresa Buford of Oak Creek and Gerald Dew of Chicago.


Adam Niemuth of Franklin was among the 32 cadets who were sworn in and received their badges as Wisconsin State Patrol officers, either troopers or inspectors, during a graduation ceremony in Onalaska in March. Cadets began their training program at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy in October 2011.
