Will the Brewers stick with Ken Macha?

Calling all bleeding heart judges and juries

The attorney for a mayor-beating thug wants you to feel sorry for his client.

Anthony Cotton is defending Anthony Peters who is accused of beating Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. Of course, when your client is guilty as sin, your only chance is to try to build sympathy, a tactic that could work with a liberal criminal justice system.

Cotton has already started to lay out the litany of excuses.  Grab your crying towels, you criminal-loving libs:

Peters has a history of mental disorders (Translation: He didn’t know what he was doing and can’t be held responsible).

Peters was not on his medication at the time of the attack.

Peters acted the way he did because of mental disease or defect (A favorite plea when you’re guilty as hell).

Peters has bipolar disorder (Former suburban alderman, mayoral wanna-be perhaps? Probably not. He kept his shoes on during the attack).

Peters might suffer from schizophrenia.

Spare me.

All that’s missing from this story is a puff piece from former Journal Sentinel columnist William Janz swooning all over Peters.
