Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. There is no reason for a Franklin school tax increase this year

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting the Franklin School District is estimated to receive an increase in state aid next year of $371, 944. That’s a 2.46 % increase. Many school districts in our area are getting decreases (click on the image to enlarge).

How should the Jesse James Gang, officially known as the Franklin School Board react? If they had any semblance of fiscal responsibility, they would vote for a school levy property tax increase of 0% or downright close.

But they won’t.

It’s not in their nature.

They will whine and cry that the increase isn’t big enough.

It never is, fellow taxpayers.
