"If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this, saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding their borders, I would have to look twice at this.  But this is a state (Arizona) that is a ways removed from the border."
Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West during debate about a County Board resolution to boycott Arizona.

"I just want to assure my colleague that Arizona does in fact share a border with the country of Mexico.”
Milwaukee County Supervisor Joe Rice

"I believe today, under the circumstances that we're facing, that the majority of the illegal trespassers that are coming into the state of Arizona are under the direction and control of organized drug cartels and they are bringing drugs in. There's strong information to us that they come as illegal people wanting to come to work. Then they are accosted and they become subjects of the drug cartel.”
Arizona governor Jan Brewer

"Unless Gov. Brewer can provide hard data to substantiate her claim that most undocumented people crossing into Arizona are 'drug mules,' she must retract such an outrageous statement. If she has no data and is just mouthing off for political reasons, as I believe she is doing, then she must apologize to the people of Arizona for lying to them so blatantly."
Oscar Martinez, a University of Arizona history professor

“Recall that Obama spoke directly with McChrystal only once in the first 100 days after his appointment as commander of all American and NATO forces in ‘the central front on terror’ (Obama's words). During this same period, Obama was meeting face-to-face with Andy Stern, then president of SEIU (Service Employees International Union), on a weekly basis.

McChrystal is commander of brave soldiers who, for our safety, put their lives on the line in a hell hole, while Stern was the leader of janitors, bed sheet changers and french fry salters. The twisted priority for Obama's time and attention was an insult to the troops under McChrystal's command.

McChrystal finally vented. Unfortunately, this public rift between the commander in chief and his general will only serve to give aid and comfort to the enemy. For that, they should both be replaced.”
Paul Kristopeit of Beloit in a letter to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

“Nurturing families come in many forms, and children may be raised by a father and mother, a single father, two fathers, a step father, a grandfather, or caring guardian."
President Obama

"Students who spent their valuable, precious time diving through dumpsters before this event in order to silence someone ... what a wasted resource. A suggestion for those dumpster divers: Instead of trying to tell people to sit down and shut up ... spend some time telling people like our president to finally stand up.”
Sarah Palin speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration at California State University. Officials have refused to divulge the terms of her contract or her speaking fee, and some details only came to light after students fished part of what appeared to be Palin's contract from a rubbish bin.

"If New York liberals insist on bragging about their intellectual bravado in believing ‘nothing is sacrosanct,’ it would really help if they could stop being the most easily offended, P.C., group-think, thin-skinned weanies in the entire universe and maybe ease up on the college ‘hate speech’ codes, politically correct firings, and bans on military recruiters.”
Conservative columnist Ann Coulter

“So will the game allow players to create, say, a 3 week emergency food supply and wait for 3 months for FEMA to show up with government aid? Will the player be allowed to loot local closed grocery stores for food to fill that gap and then be arrested for it? Come on. They need to make it realistic.”
E. Zachary Knight from the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Entertainment Consumers Association, responding to Legacy Interactive’s announcement it will create a web-based game designed to teach kids how to prepare for hazards and emergencies.
