This Just In ...

Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely young daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

If I was Brett Favre...

And I decided to come out of retirement, again, and I signed to play with the Minnesota Vikings, I’d seriously consider refusing to talk to any Wisconsin media, a la Sterling Sharpe.

And I’d start with Milwaukee Journal Sentinel sports columnist Michael Hunt. Did you see his attack piece on Favre today? This gem stuck out with me:

“While Favre was overly mythologized - and the media bears responsibility here - at the end of the day he was not a whole lot more than Will Ferrell throwing footballs.”

What is that????

At the risk of sounding less than insightful, such a printed statement is really dumb. I’d love to see Michael Hunt put on a helmet, have a defensive front four and blitzing linebackers pour down on his behind and see what happens. I mean, after all, Favre is just Will Ferrell in green and gold.

What brought on this verbal assault? I guess the less than creative Michael Hunt had nothing more to give today. Maybe, to use his own lingo, he’s just an “aging” columnist who may not be “fit” to write in a “young man’s game.”
