More liberal bias in Sunday's Journal Sentinel

MJS Scorecard

Sunday’s Crossroads section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will reprint a New York Times op-ed piece that is based on a false premise that is all the rage since the recent murder of abortionist George Tiller. Columnist Paul Krugman writes:

Today, as in the early years of the Clinton administration but to an even greater extent, right-wing extremism is being systematically fed by the conservative media and political establishment.”

It’s pure garbage. It’s also incomprehensible (but maybe not considering the lefties that dominate the editorial pages and management of same at the MJS) that the paper would run such a volatile, explosive piece without a side-by-side piece written in rebuttal.

But that’s the Journal Sentinel.

I submit to you, not one, but two columns with opposing views.

The first is by conservative talk show host Martha Zoller who writes:

I am a pro-life, born-again, conservative Christian, and most of the media is afraid of people like me.  They assume ‘right wing nuts’ were secretly cheering the death of George Tiller. Nothing is further from the truth.”

The second is by cable talk show giant Bill O’Reilly who writes:

“By exploiting the death of Tiller, the far-left is seeking to silence Americans who are appalled by late-term abortion. By demonizing people like me who believe that terminating viable fetuses must only be done when there are catastrophic health ramifications, the pro-abortion zealots are trying to inhibit dissent on the abortion issue in general.”

Inhibiting dissent is exactly the motive in this Sunday’s Crossroads section. I’m not surprised.
