ABC should dump Jeff Van Gundy

Jeff Van Gundy has done an outstanding job as an NBA color analyst on TV.......until now.

Now we're down to the NBA Finals featuring the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic. The Magic are coached by Jeff Van Gundy's brother, Stan Van Gundy.

There is no way, no how that Jeff Van Gundy can be objective and as good as he normally is as a brodcaster, and it has started to show during the Finals.

It reminds me of when CBS insisted upon using former Boston Celtics player and coach Tom Heinsohn as its main analyst during playoff games, even during Boston games when Boston was in the playoffs a lot. Good Lord, it was painfully obvious Heinsohn wasn't just announcing, he was cheerleading. The same goes for Van Gundy.

ABC won't dump Van Gundy. Tonight, we're already  into Game 3 of the Finals. The decision should have been made before Game One.

Here's more.
