What did Scott Walker do this week? (07/05/14)

What did Scott Walker do this week?

We do this every Saturday to report on activity you may or may not hear about in the mainstream media.

This is worth repeating: "The Walker Smear Collapses." Jonathan Tobin writes.

Governor Walker began the week surveying storm damage in La Crosse…

“We’ll continue to monitor. Wisconsin Emergency Management will be working with the mayor and the city of La Crosse so we’re able to make sure people get the help that they need,” said Walker. The Governor also toured other spots in SW WI that sustained damage.

The Governor appeared in Wausau: "It's about creating jobs."

There was a tour of the ongoing expansion at United Alloy near Janesville.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that public-sector unions in Illinois cannot collect union dues from in-home health-care workers reaffirms Wisconsin’s collective bargaining reform law, Gov. Scott Walker said. “The Supreme Court’s ruling (Monday) reinforces the Act 10 reforms eliminating the requirement for public employees to pay union dues,” the Republican governor said in a statement. Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and Department of Revenue Sec. Rick Chandler held the last scheduled Tax Roundtable last week in Pewaukee, after six months of traveling the state listening to Wisconsinites about how to reform taxes and reduce the overall tax burden. After the roundtable concluded, Kleefisch spoke with the MacIver Institute about what she has heard from local taxpayers, families and small business owners over the last six months.

And the Governor participated in Independence Day parades. On July 3 he was in Menomonee Falls.

On July 4, Wauwatosa.

Till next time, have a great Wisconsin week!
