Prosecutors consider 28 possible cases of felons voting


State election officials havereferred 28 cases to district attorneys for instances in which felons on state supervision might have voted in the 2012 presidential election.


Felons are not allowed to vote while incarcerated, on probation or on parole, but are free to cast ballots after they have completed their sentences. Voting while on state supervision is a felony punishable by up to 31/2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
