Hales Corners Elementary Project Fair to Feature 110 Displays, Much More

For the seventh consecutive year, students in grades 1-5 at Hales Corners Elementary are revving up for its annual Project Fair, an opportunity for students to show off their educational interests outside of the classroom.

Much like a science fair, but better, students volunteer to create a project in any area that interests them, such as Social Studies, Visual Arts, Math, Language Arts and Science. The project includes a visual display of their project and a written log that explains the project’s process and details what they’ve learned.

More than 110 students projects will be on display for public viewing Thursday, May 1, from 6-8 p.m. That day, the projects will be judged by Whitnall High School students. Ribbon-winners will revealed that evening. There will also be more than 80 musical performances from HCE students and an ice cream social during the public viewing.

As many as 400 people attended the Edgerton Elementary School Project Fair in March. Even more are expected to attend the HCE event.

“The March Project Fair at Edgerton was a huge success, and we’re sure the one at Hales Corners Elementary will be as well,” said Colleen Roth, the District’s Gifted and Talented elementary teacher and the Project Fair organizer. “The students have been working very hard on their projects and are excited to have their friends, family and the community see them.”
