PETER PAN Takes Flight Friday Night on Your PBS Station!

Worth Your While!

on PBS Friday Night - 9 pm ET/8 pm CT
I don't think I've ever done this before with my own e-mail list (which you happen to be on!), but I do want you to know about a production from our station, Milwaukee Public Television, that will be on YOUR PBS station tomorrow, Friday night, April 18.  It's the classic Peter Pan tale told with original choreography and music by Milwaukee Ballet -- and you will find it delightful, accessible, and engaging, even if you're not a ballet fan.  It's a treat for the whole family: all the characters you remember are part of the story -- Tinkerbell, Tiger Lilly, Captain Hook, the Lost Boys, even Nana the Dog -- and yes, Peter Pan and the Darling children really do fly!
I'm particularly excited that PBS has placed the program on its national primetime schedule -- so whether you're in Milwaukee (on WMVS) or Champaign (on WILL) or Phoenix (on KAET) or New York (on WNET) or Madison (on WHA) or Nashville (on WNPT) or Tallahassee (on WFSU) or Jacksonville (on WJCT) or Washington (on WETA) or Boston (on WGBH) or Columbia (on WRLK) or Los Angeles (on KOCE) or Chicago (on WTTW) or Charleston (on WITV), or Philadelphia (on WHYY) or Pittsburgh (on WQED) or Binghamton (on WSKG) or Cookeville (WCTE) or Las Cruces (on KRWG) or Green Bay (on WPNE) or Bozeman (on KUSM) or Springfield (on WSEC) or New Orleans (on WYES) or Baton Rouge (on WLPB) or Indianapolis (on WFYI) or Durham (on WENH) or Rochester (on WXXI) or Syracuse (on WCNY) or Fort Wayne (on WFWA) or wherever you happen to be Friday night, please tune in to your local PBS station to see some TV really worth watching.  (Check local listings for repeat or alternate broadcast dates.)
The Huffington Post has this to say about Marc Petrocci, who plays Peter Pan: "Petrocci may well become a household name as of April 18th when Milwaukee Ballet's high-octane PETER PAN will be broadcast on national public television, with Petrocci in the title role."

Teachers should note that there is an online study guide for PETER PAN FROM MILWAUKEE BALLET:
The show was a hit during runs in Denver and here in Milwaukee, and now the whole country will get to see the magic through the reach of PBS.  We say that public TV is "America's Greatest Stage," and PETER PAN FROM MILWAUKEE BALLET is proof positive of that.  Please join us for this special broadcast next Friday on YOUR PBS station -- and tell your friends and neighbors to watch, too!
And a personal wish for a happy Easter and joyous Passover to all my friends!
