The Barking Lot-America's Finest Dog Blog (03/15/14)

The Barking Lot

The Barking Lot is a regular weekly feature of This Just InWritten by my lovely wife, Jennifer and me.  It opens with the weekend dog walking forecast followed by the main blog from dog lover, Jennifer. Then its DOGS IN THE NEWS and our close. Enjoy!

THE WEEKEND DOG-WALKING FORECAST: We grade the weather outlook for taking your pet outdoors.

TODAY:  Partly cloudy skies early. Afternoon snow showers. High of 38. "D"

SUNDAY:  Cloudy and windy. High of 22. "F"

Here’s my lovely wife, Jennifer with this week’s main blog:

The other day, I told Kevin I wanted an Irish Setter.  He told me he’d be happy to get me one and promptly placed an order.  For this.

Uh, gee, Kevin it’s nice but…

Oh never mind.  I probably should’ve known better.

Actually I do love all Irish dog breeds, but I’m particular to one other than the Setter.  Long-time readers of The Barking Lot know that I’M the one who does the drooling when it comes to Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers.  I’ve had the pleasure of knowing a few of them; they are such charming animals.

At Irish Fest’s Celtic Canine area, I spend the most time petting the Wheatons and talking to their owners.  I can’t get enough of the dogs’ sweet dispositions, fluffy coats and bright happy faces.  I challenge anyone to not fall in love with this face:

While Ireland may not be the country of origin for the MOST breeds, I personally feel they have given us some of the best.  Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all our four-legged friends, and the humans that love them!
