An important message from Franklin's Steve Olson

Dear friends and neighbors:

The ballot is set!  For Franklin, it will be me, a business man, a full time politician and a retired former politician for the next leader of the city with the primary election FEBRUARY 18.

As I mentioned in my last e-mail, being a businessman, I set goals rather than make political promises.  Let me remind you of my major goals for the city as the mayor:

“My largest goal is to return Franklin to the city that businesses and families want to live and grow.  It’s a big job given the economy and our internal issues but with your help and a supportive Common Council I know we can get the job done!  My second goal is to provide predictability and responsiveness in dealing with the city hall bureaucracy and myself.  I’ll strive to continue to communicate with you as I have in the past.  There is a lot of work to do to re-involve the community in the affairs of the City.  Our citizens have always been our strength and citizen involvement has provided un-paralleled expertise and ideas that have made Franklin what it is today.  Our potential is limitless and my goal is to tap the spirit and talents of the community to bring us back to the days of “100 best places to live” and “fastest growing community” status.”

I have been very vocal in urging fiscal restraint and in fact, demanding cuts in our municipal budget to relieve some of the tax burden from our taxpayers.  I continue to focus on Franklin, our people, our development, our resources and our future.

I need some help.  Would you please:

·        Put a reminder in your calendar to VOTE on February 18, and when you do vote, Vote only for me…  it doubles the power of your vote.

·        Put up a yard sign.  Send me your address.

·        Talk to your neighbors about me.

·        Consider sending a contribution to help fund my campaign. (see below)

Franklin needs a mayor who will focus on the needs of OUR community, run the business of government like a business, and focus resources on issues that will have the most impact on the residents of the City.  Of the three candidates, I’m the only one who can achieve this need.
