Former Franklin alderman Steve Olson weighs in on Tuesday's election

Dear Neighbor:

I hope all is well with you and your family.

Tomorrow is an important election day.  Voters in Wisconsin’s 82nd assembly district will pick the Republican candidate for the December 17th election to replace Jeff Stone.

I know and have worked with two of the three candidates.  Unlike the other politicians who have endorsed candidates in this election, my choice is not based on who worked on my campaign; who contributed money or who’s been seen at party meetings.  My choice is based purely on who would best represent us in Madison.  For far too long we’ve had representatives whose focus was on trains or some other issue with no relationship to the area while state road projects and developments needing state approvals were ignored.

We need an intelligent, well spoken, well-educated representative who is focused on the district.

That candidate is Shari Hanneman.

Shari is a Franklin resident who has worked tirelessly for the protection of our children.  She and the Citizens for a Safe Wisconsin were successful in changing several state laws strengthening protections.  She’s worked with Democrats and Republicans in getting these bills passed.  She has a master’s degree in economics; a definite plus in handling the complex finances of the state and understanding what it takes to get our economy working.

In the message below there are links to the interviews of each candidate in tomorrow’s election.  I urge you to look at all three and see for yourself that Shari is the best to represent us in Madison.

Please join me in voting for Shari.

Here’s her message.

Dear Friends,

In the final weekend before the primary election, I am asking your help to get out the vote by sharing this email with all of your contacts in the 82nd Assembly District (Franklin, Greendale, eastern portion of Greenfield).

Voter turnout in a special primary election is historically very low -- EVERY VOTE COUNTS!

I am up against a competitor with over $40,000 in his campaign treasure chest!  Spending as much or more to get elected than what the job actually pays doesn’t seem very conservative to me!!

It is impossible for me to hit every home in the district in just 4 weeks.  I’m sorry if I have missed you and I hope to visit with you soon!

In the meantime, your endorsement to your friends and neighbors is invaluable in helping me win this election!  Please spread the word and ask your friends to spread the word!

Why vote for Shari?

o   I’m a citizen….not a career politician

o   My work with Citizens for a Safe Wisconsin helped save taxpayers over $3 million and kept sex predators out of Franklin

o   I have proven success advocating for our community in Madison and getting legislation passed

o   My Master’s degree in Applied Economics will greatly benefit the community in bringing real economic development and tax relief

o   I helped to provide pediatric trauma equipment for all Milwaukee County paramedic units – no cost to taxpayers!

o   Endorsed by Wisconsin Right to Life

o   I stand proudly on my community work – I’ve always worked with HONESTY & INTEGRITY

I will be a strong, consistent, conservative voice advocating for you in Madison!

Below are links to interviews with all 3 candidates….watch and decide who you think will represent our district best!

With warmest regards and sincere thanks,

Shari Hanneman
