Tommy Thompson's Plan to Repeal and Replace Obamacare

Obamacare must be repealed.

It is an underfunded, potentially unconstitutional takeover of one of largest sectors of our economy. But ending Obamacare isn't enough.  We must replace it with a plan that works.

Repealing Obamacare is a common anthem among conservative candidates like me, but I am the only candidate with the health care expertise and full plan to replace Obamacare with market-based reforms.

My plan addresses the three fundamental flaws of our current system:
  1. Complex and confusing regulations that have destroyed the market,
  2. The disconnection of economic realities and consumer choices; and
  3. The lack of true competition among providers and insurers.

There are six key actions guiding this health care initiative, which will replace government-run Obamacare with an efficient market-driven system. These actions include rewarding quality care and cost savings, empowering consumers, controlling litigation, encouraging employer coverage through insurance reform, and addressing Medicaid challenges. Click here to read the full plan.

My first priority as a US Senator will be to repeal Obamacare.  I am repeal-ready today.

But repealing alone isn't enough. Our health care system was in trouble before Obamacare and it will be in trouble still if all we do is repeal.  The repeal of Obamacare must be the catalyst for real market-based reform - not mere inaction.
