Goodnight everyone, and have a totally today weekend!

Music is a discipline, and a mistress of order and good manners, she makes the people milder and gentler, more moral and more reasonable.

It's Friday night. Time to unwind with our regular Friday night feature on This Just In.

The weekend has finally arrived.

The sun has set.

The evening sky has erupted.

Let's put controversy and provocative blogs aside for the rest of this work week and smooth our way into Saturday and Sunday.

e’ve been quite nostalgic the past several weeks, so tonight, we select some rather new pieces that fit our theme.

Barreling its way up the charts is the latest Duets offering from Tony Bennett with some unusual combinations.

Bennett and Gaga… who’d have thunk it?

Next, Paul Hardcastle, an English composer and musician who specializes in the synthesizer.

Think of spa music cranked up a bit.

The next gal has been featured before on Goodnight. Her career is off to a great start with another smash CD. Here's the title track.

Next, George Benson is back with a new CD that features his unparalleled guitar work, perhaps more than any of his recordings. With guest artists like Harvey Mason on drums, Joe Sample on piano, and Ben Williams on bass, Benson’s “Guitar Man” is called not just one of the top ten discs of the year, but of the coming decade by jazz

Here’s his rendition of one you might remember.

That's it for this week.

Sleep well.

Have a great weekend.

We close with guitarist Larry Carlton and his tribute to the Philly sound.
