Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen Endorsed - State Legislative Races Crucial

Attorney General Race
The role of the Wisconsin Attorney General can have a profound impact on important right-to-life laws.  One of the responsibilities of the Attorney General is to defend Wisconsin's laws when they are challenged in court.  Pro-abortion organizations have unsuccessfuly challenged life-saving laws enacted as the result of the work of Wisconsin Right to Life.  Future challenges to other right-to-life laws by pro-abortion organizations are a distinct possibility.  Incumbent J.B. Van Hollen would fairly defend existing laws protecting the sanctity of human life.

Attorney General Van Hollen's opponent, Scott Hassett, is pro-abortion and endorsed by Planned Parenthood, the organization that performs most of Wisconsin's abortions and works to defeat right-to-life legislation.

The Importance of State Legislative Races
In 2006 and 2008, pro-abortion legislators took a firm grip on the leadership of the State Assembly and State Senate.  If these individuals retain control and increase their numbers, here is what is at risk:
  • Repeal of Wisconsin's historic abortion ban which would shut down abortion clinics once Roe v. Wade is overturned
  • Taxpayer funding of abortion through health care or other measures
  • Weakening or repeal of life-saving laws such as the Woman's Right to Know
  • Attacks on the Wisconsin law which prohibits assisted suicide

And then vote on November 2nd!

Key Congressional Races Could Bring Right-to-Life Strength to Washington

3rd Congressional District - Dan Kapanke Endorsed
The election of Dan Kapanke (R) would be a welcome right-to-life vote in contrast to incumbent pro-abortion Congressman Ron Kind.  As a State Senator, Kapanke has been a true champion of the right-to-life on all issues.  On the other hand, pro-abortion Ron Kind has voted for taxpayer funding of abortion here and overseas, keeping a minor girl's abortion a secret from her parents, allowing human cloning and many other anti-life votes.  If Ron Kind is re-elected, he will continue to support the Obama Administration's pro-abortion agenda.

7th Congressional District - Sean Duffy Endorsed
The election of Sean Duffy to Congress is a golden opportunity for major positive changes on life issues.  Duffy is seeking to replace retiring David Obey.  Duffy opposes tax dollars for abortions, supports parental consent before a minor girl's abortion and will stand up to defend unborn children at every opportunity.  Sean Duffy's opponent, pro-abortion Julie Lassa, has a 0% right-to-life voting record while serving in the State Senate.  The pro-abortion movement can count on Lassa to support its deadly agenda.  The election of Julie Lassa to Congress would be a disaster for the right-to-life cause.

8th Congressional District - Reid Ribble Endorsed
Reid Ribble holds a strong right-to-life position.  He is committed to voting against government funding of abortion here and overseas, unethical stem cell research, human cloning and the rationing of health care.  Reid Ribble would be a solid right-to-life vote.  Current Congressman Steve Kagen must be defeated to reverse his pro-abortion votes in Congress.  Kagen has a shocking 0% right-to-life voting record.  If re-elected to Congress, Kagen will continue to vote in lock step with the pro-abortion Obama Administration.

Russ Feingold a Hard Core Backer of Abortion - Election of Ron Johnson Key to Protecting Life

Unborn children have suffered untold damage from Russ Feingold's 18 years in the U.S. Senate.  On measure after measure, Feingold has voted as one of the strongest backers of abortion in the entire U.S. Senate.  Feingold supports partial-birth abortion, unrestricted federal taxpayer dollars for abortion, keeping minor girls’ abortions secret from their parents, forcing medical schools to train residents to perform abortions, and much more.

Feingold voted for the infamous Obamacare health care mandate which contains funding for abortions.   In short, there is not a single unborn child that Senator Feingold has voted to protect, or will protect in the future.  He is pro-abortion to the core.

All of these votes demonstrate Feingold's extreme callousness toward  unborn human life as well as an arrogant disrespect for parental rights.

But as deplorable as those votes are, nothing can compare to what happened on the U.S. Senate floor on September 26, 1996.  A debate took place  on whether the Senate should override President Clinton's veto of the "Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act."  The following exchange took place between right-to-life Senator Rick Santorum and Feingold:

This is a verbatim transcription of the actual floor debate as taped from C-Span.

Sen. Santorum: Will the Senator from Wisconsin yield for a question?

Sen. Feingold: I will.

Sen. Santorum: The Senator from Wisconsin says that this decision should be left up to the mother and the doctor, as if there is absolutely no limit that could be placed on what decision that they make with respect to that. And the Senator from California [Sen. Barbara Boxer] is going up to advise you of what my question is going to be, and I will ask it anyway. And my question is this: that if that baby were delivered breech style and everything was delivered except for the head, and for some reason that that baby's head would slip out -- that the baby was completely delivered -- would it then still be up to the doctor and the mother to decide whether to kill that baby?

Sen. Feingold: I would simply answer your question by saying under the Boxer amendment, the standard of saying it has to be a determination, by a doctor, of health of the mother, is a sufficient standard that would apply to that situation. And that would be an adequate standard.

Sen. Santorum: That doesn't answer the question. Let's assume that this procedure is being performed for the reason that you've stated, and the head is accidentally delivered. Would you allow the doctor to kill the baby?

Sen. Feingold: I am not the person to be answering that question. That is a question that should be answered by a doctor, and by the woman who receives advice from the doctor.   And neither I, nor is the Senator from Pennsylvania, truly competent to answer those questions.  That is why we should not be making those decisions here on the floor of the Senate.

It is bad enough that Feingold  is the  pro-abortion poster child for the Planned Parenthoods of the world  but his comments following questioning by Santorum vividly display  how an anti-life mentality has no stopping point.

Is Russ Feingold worthy of your vote?  Think about it!

Ron Johnson stands in stark contrast to Feingold.  Johnson strongly believes human life should be protected from abortion.  He is committed to building a culture of life in our nation and will work to defeat legislation that would demean the sanctity of human life.

Election of Scott Walker as Governor Critical to Right-to-Life Efforts

Planned Parenthood (PP) prominently features a picture and promo of pro-abortion Tom Barrett on the front page of its website.  He is their hero – and that tells the entire story.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->

"Tom Barrett has been a steadfast supporter of access to reproductive health care during his 26 year career as a public servant,” touts the PP website.   It’s no wonder that Planned Parenthood is salivating about a Barrett victory --   Barrett has compiled a formidable pro-abortion voting record.

Barrett voted to allow partial-birth abortion; voted to allow human cloning; voted to allow FDA approval of chemical abortion methods; voted to take a child across state lines to have an abortion to keep it a secret from her parents and countless other anti-life votes!

Barrett's record is quite a contrast to the right-to-life positions of Scott Walker!

During his tenure in the State Assembly, Walker was a courageous leader for the right-to-life cause. Under a Walker administration, not only will current right-to-life laws, like our historic Wisconsin abortion ban, be protected, but an opportunity arises to have even more right-to-life measures signed into law.
