Here are, in my view, interesting, noteworthy columns and articles from the past week that I highly recommend (You will note that on occasion, I do not endorse the opinions of the author and may point that out. Despite my disagreements, I still feel the piece is worth a read).

Chile's Miners Would Still Be Down There If They Were Democrats

"If we can use the British Petroleum disaster in Louisiana as any indication, if those Chilean miners had had the misfortune to have been in an American mine disaster, they'd still be down there wasting away as Obama twiddled his thumbs, quite unlike Chile's president.

We have but to recall that Obama didn't even address the BP disaster for days after the extent of it had become known. Heck he didn't even bother contacting BP's CEO Tony Howard for 53 days into the disaster."

MTV Dude to Obama: "Why Should We Vote You Back In?"

"In what may be one of the best examples we’ve seen thus far that he’s losing his juice, Obama actually got grilled by an MTV crowd. MTV for Pete’s sake! After seeing this clip, here’s a hint of what your reaction will be: Adam Hunter for President, 2035."

ObamaCare Breaks the Top Ten

"He did it again. When his health care bill was floundering last year, President Obama rallied liberal religious leaders to sell his plan.He even invoked the Ten Commandments by charging, 'There are some folks that are, frankly, bearing false witness.' So it's fair game to check whether ObamaCare meets biblical standards. For starters, let's test it against the Ten Commandments...."

Why Pastors Punt on Political Issues

"Before I give you the master list of reasons why some ministers are limp biscuits, let me go on record as saying that a silent pastor in today’s paranormal climate is about as worthless as a pitch pipe is to Yoko Ono. Look, I don’t care how much the minister likes kitty cats, candy canes, or if he weeps at Celine Dion concerts. If he’s not a part of this crucial societal throw down—pointing out what’s putrid and cheering on what’s proper—then he’s Judas Iscariot in my estimation."

Jim Doyle's Final Report Card

“'I don’t think you could put a bowling team together with his allies in the Legislature,' says one Democratic lawmaker, who, like most of the other two dozen Capitol insiders and observers interviewed, requested that their critical comments be off-the-record. Even a longtime Republican critic of the governor was reluctant to be quoted, concerned Doyle could use some of his then $2 million war chest to feed the campaign of his state Senate opponent."

Golf Cart Stimulus

"Remember when Glenn Beck interviewed John Stossel of FOX about his free golf cart?  I am hearing from friends that they know people who have bought a golf cart for free - you paid for it.  That is the President’s idea of Stimulus."

How leftists are killing "The Jetsons'

"When I was a kid, I'd wake up extraordinarily early every morning and turn on the television, scanning for episodes of 'The Jetsons.' For some reason, I loved the notion of a future where there would be flying cars supercomputers, and most of all, robot maids to take care of the chores. The generation that preceded me tuned into "Star Trek" for the same reasons — they were eager to see a future that featured incredible technology and timesaving conveniences.

For the first time in American history, today's generation is looking at a future that resembles the Flintstones more than the Jetsons."
