THE WEEKEND DOG-WALKING FORECAST: We grade the weather outlook for taking your pet outdoors.

TODAY:  Sunny. High of 69.  "A"

SUNDAY:  Sunny. High of 62. "B"

Here’s my lovely wife, Jennifer with this week’s main blog:

Kevin has always celebrated  all kinds of holidays with me (and now, with his precious Kyla as well.)  He loves taking me out to dinner at special restaurants, giving me cards & presents, etc.  When we were dating, I always assumed he would propose on a special holiday, one we would always remember.  Valentine’s Day was an obvious choice but of course there was also Sweetest Day.  We vacationed in Disneyworld every October for their Food & Wine Festival and 2003 was no exception.  I was hoping (praying!) that Saturday, October 18 would be “the day.”

Well, I was sort of right.  By October 18, 2003 we were indeed engaged.  Except he asked me to marry him on Tuesday October 14!  Not only did he want to surprise me (he certainly did) but he wanted the date to be “our” date and not associated with anything but his proposal.

Fast forward to October 2010.  His final objection to our owning a dog is G-O-N-E.  Now that I am a SAHM there is no excuse of no one being home to take care of the pooch.  He has been talking to our neighbor George quite a bit lately.  You know that I have blogged several times about George’s dog Mickey, the Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier that I just adore.  The one I’ve even baked dog biscuits for at Christmas time.  It’s probably my imagination but it seems that if I come outside to join them, the conversation takes a sudden jolt to a subject as if he’s been caught off guard.

When I told him about meeting Mario the other day he just got a sweet smile on his face and listened patiently while I gushed about him.  Yep, another Soft Coated Wheaton… met him and his mom in the parking lot of Pick ‘n Save.  She couldn’t say enough about what a wonderful dog he is and how much she enjoys having him in her life.

So here we are on Saturday, October 16, Sweetest Day 2010.   A stifled puppy bark didn’t wake me up this morning.  But now knowing Kevin’s modus operandi, there’s a chance the Puppy Fairy could drop by at any time next week.  Could it be???!!!
