Mark Neumann's Tea Party Tactics

I received the following today from Lora Halberstadt, a Tea Party organizer:

I’m extremely disappointed in Congressman Neumann’s latest stunt.

Yesterday, I received an email from Mark Neumann with the subject line: "Tea Party Backs Neumann!"  As a proud organizer of a TEA Party group, I am highly offended by Neumann’s false claim. Mark Neumann is not endorsed by a TEA Party group, and I’m disappointed by his attempt to claim our movement as his own.

The TEA party is about taking our government back, and electing true conservatives who we know share our values of lower taxes, limited government, and more freedom, and who have a record to prove it.

That’s why I’m supporting Scott Walker on Tuesday, and so are an overwhelming amount of TEA party activists across Wisconsin.

Most TEA Party groups do not endorse candidates, and do not intend to.  We are individuals in a movement, not a political party.

I do intend to vote for Scott Walker on Tuesday.  Especially now.

Yesterday, the Tea Party's Wisconsin 9/12 Project backed Mark Neumann in their final poll of its membership by nearly 40%! A month ago, the group backed Walker by 9%. The Tea Party's support is just another indication of Mark's momentum heading into Tuesday.

  August September
Mark Neumann 36.4% 61.9%
Scott Walker 45.5% 23.8%

Group organizer Kirsten Lombard sums it up best:

"We've seen a huge shift in the gubernatorial straw polling," Lombard observes. "Last month showed Mark Neumann significantly narrowing the gap with Scott Walker. This month, Neumann has shot ahead, with Walker losing substantial ground among our group members."

{FIRST_NAME|Friend}, you and I are not the only ones who see this shift in momentum - Scott Walker realizes it too. As a result, Walker has released another negative attack ad similar to the last.

The Journal Sentinel already called Walker's attacks "false."

Countless Wisconsinites called on Walker to stop these false attacks. Yet, Mr. Walker won't listen.

Although disappointing, these are the types of actions career politicians take when their career is in jeopardy. Negative attacks have never created a single job.

Will you help us stop these negative attacks by donating $15, $35, $65, or $100?

Mark remains focused on his positive plan to cut spending and cut taxes.

Mark Neumann for Governor

P.S. The overwhelming support from Tea Party members is just the latest show of momentum for Mark Neumann. The campaign is surging, but we need your help to stop the negative attacks and get our conservative message out. Please consider donating $15, $35, $65 or even $100 by clicking here.
