Franklin official: Natural lawn issue blown out of proportion

The city of Franklin’s all but meaningless and virtually powerless Environmental Commission meets tonight to discuss the most recent Franklin controversy: natural lawns. The term “natural lawn” is actually doublespeak for “landscaping or yard vegetation run amok and unruly.” Or, as a colleague of mine puts it even more succinctly, “weeds.”

This morning, WUWM’s Susan Bence gave an update in an in-depth, informative piece. But I find it very odd that Bence couldn’t find a single soul to go on tape that was passionately opposed to natural lawns.

Here’s her story complete with link to audio.
